was hanging in Tampa

Submitted by Jens Pulver on Mon, 02/09/2009 - 21:00.

well the weekend was a blast, had a good time at the show the fights were as exciting as you would imagine. The Crowd as always didn't disappoint I wish there was more time, I would have run around and hung out with everyone in the place. Sean Sherk and I did a seminar the day before and I had a great time working with all that were there. Of course I got too see both Matt Hughes and Robbie Lawler there as well so it was a reunion so to speak. Its been a long time where I got to hang out with those guys. I can't thank Fighterwarehouse enough for bringing Sean and myself in and letting us hang with the fans who showed up to say hello. If your in the area I would definitely say go check out the store they have a nice setup. Got word today from Jeeperz 4WD that the jeep is coming along nicely and they finally tackled most of the rust issues. The amount of Salt they lay on the roads around here in the winter make it a haven for rust especially on a 1994 Jeep like mine. Its my boy though and I am so excited to too see the final outcome on what they have done to it. I love that damn ride and its got sentimental value. Like I said before I have a Roush Roadster in the garage, but my vehicle of choice is my jeep. After sitting for a bit and really thinking about whats next, I have come to terms with my last few fights and the losses that I have been through. I meant what I said I am not done, I am gonna stay the course cause I believe in AMC and Matt Hume. I know that I am improving and I know that what I am learning out there is relevant and I will come back from all this. My life has been a roller coaster full of ups and downs, but it is a ride I am not ready to get off of just yet. I am too Driven and enjoy being around the fans to much to pack it in just yet. I hope all is well with all of you.

Glad to hear your not hanging it up! Since no one else has asked...is the Jeep done, and are we going to get to see any pic's of it here or what? One of the biggest regrets I had was selling my '77 CJ5, every time I see it I kick myself for getting rid of it. (It's been 10 years and I still see it every once in a while)

Never quit Jens, never give up! I love watching you fight and will always tune in for your matches. Win, lose, or draw you put on a show so whenever your in the cage I know it will be a good fight. Whoever that ass was that interviewed you and had the audacity to ask you if you were relevant after your loss should be smacked. Seriously how many people will remember him tomorrow? Hell for that matter who even knows who is today? If you ask me he is the one that is not (and never was) relevant.

Keep your spirits up bother. If I ever get a chance to go to one of your fights you bet your ass I will be trying to meet you in person to let you know how much we all love you, and how relevant you really are.

You could go either way and still be a legend, but you're truly a warrior. I wouldn't mind at all seeing u go a couple more, but one will be enough for us fans. *17*

Jens,

Forever relevant is what you are. Can't wait to see you in the cage again and I'm glad you did not hang it up. Sometime's when life has you down it easy to call it quits and at those times are when we make the wrong decisions that can effect our life later on. Your life has always been about ups and downs and you are living proof that we can never quit or give up on our dreams. Like a phoenix you will rise again from burning ash into a magnificent creature. I know that you will stand back on top as a champion again in your life. You are a walking legend and your willingness and desire to touch your fans lives is what will make you a true champion forever.

We first want to thank Jens for coming out. Over the course of the years we've had many meet & greets with well known fighters, but few have had the charisma and character that Jens has. If you ever get the chance to meet him, you HAVE to! His sense of humor will have you in stitches, he's a legend and yet more down to earth than you could imagine, and he's one the best role models and ambassadors a sport could ask for! Thanks again, Jens. You're OUR champion.

Jens,

Nothing against Hume and AMC but your going backwards. You need to get yourself right. I know your loyal and want to prove something but you need to go back to Iowa. What your missing is in Iowa. Pat and the guys there can get you right again but you got to give yourself to them. Trust me and like I say no disrespect to anyone but the only person that can straighten you our right now is Pat. I can see it Pulver. Your too emotional to see it yourself.

going backwards was exactly what I was doing until I made the choice to train elsewhere, like I said the last few fights are on me not the AMC gym, Hume is full of talent and I believe in what I am learning out there. These losses fully fall on me and my abilities. Besides I still live in Iowa. I just train else where when its time to get ready. There is no emotions involved with my choice of gyms and where I go to train, but I do appreciate your opinion.

thanks Jens for listening and reading and not bugging out on us when we have different opinions. When I made the post I was just trying to get my opinion out there. Here in Iowa we like to protect you and think of you as one of us brother. Like I said although we disagree on this my brother your still one of our guys. Just want to see you at your best so you get the best. You know yourself better than anyone though. If I came across wrong I apologize. We got love for you in the Hawkeye state bro so stay strong and stay here. Great place to raise a family!

Peace Out

With you all the way. The losses mean that the victories that are to follow and the belt you will get will be that much sweeter. Again, with you all the way.

to hear that you are not ready to pack it in has given me hope, in the last week we have encountered the worst bushfires ever in victoria, australia 'black saturday' so far 187 people have lost their lives, 750 homes have been destroyed, the emotion of the loss is too much, to add to this, a very close friend of mine who has ms has had a relapse, another friend has just been diagnosed with cancer and there was a funeral to attend all in the past week, i think i can honestly say regardless whatever happens in our lives we are all relevant and do what we do best, keep going
